Cricket Crate – Newborn Pack

Okay – I have to gush. First, let me say that I’m not being paid to say this. This post wasn’t sponsored. I was just so impressed with the Cricket CrateΒ Newborn Pack that I wanted to share this with everyone I know.

Everyone who is having a newborn or knows someone who is having a new bundle coming their way soon should get this kit.

Let’s start at the beginning and I’ll explain why.

Last year, I was looking for a gift for my niece’s birthday that she would appreciate long-term. I didn’t want to buy another toy or more clothes. She is so well-loved that she is flooded with these items on every birthday. I wanted something unique.

Having gifted subscription boxes before, I marched down that path. After some research, I landed on the Koala Crate by the Kiwi Crate company.

If you aren’t familiar with Kiwi Crate, they are a subscription company that sends a box full of creative, fun, and exploratory kits to kids based on their age. When I started my research, I didn’t realize how many lines of subscription boxes they have. They have five!

The five lines are:

  • Cricket Crate (0-36 months)
  • Koala Crate (3-4 years old)
  • Kiwi Crate (5-8 years old)
  • Doodle Crate (9-16+)
  • Tinker Crate (9-16+)

Each box focuses on STEAM projects designed to help a child grow but are also fun.

I’m all about non-electronic educational toys, so the Koala Crate was perfect! And as it turns out, it was! My niece loves her Koala Crate so much and looks forward to receiving it every month. Also, a win for me because I know what I’m getting her for all birthdays to come. Haha!

Fast forward to a month ago, I was wondering if Kiwi Crate made a subscription for newborns. My preggo brain couldn’t remember, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they do. The Cricket Crate line is very similar to the Koala Crate but of course, designed for fresh, budding minds, which is awesome. But then I saw this little link at the bottom of the page:

Check out our 3-month Newborn Pack.

Ummm, don’t mind if I do!

The page advertised a 3 box set covering multiple development areas for only $30. Sure, why not?

Guys – this set is too cute for words! Honestly, this may become my go-to baby shower gift. It’s so good for many reasons.

First, you get all three Cricket Crate Newborn Pack boxes at once. Because babies develop differently and take to stimuli at varying speeds, I appreciate being able to choose which box I want to focus on with my baby and when.

The three boxes are:

  • Looking & Learning
  • Safe & Sound
  • Faces & Emotions

Each box comes with:

  • A board book
  • A developmental tool for each theme
  • A copy of Wonder magazine

We all know three board books could be justification for the cost of the set to begin with (why are they so expensive?!) but the real value is in Wonder Magazine.

As a new parent, I’m open to all the advice I can get when it comes to my child’s learning and growth. This magazine gives science-based guidance on a newborn’s development as it relates to each boxes’ theme, including how to use the tools provided and other activities parents can engage in with their little one to continue the learning. So amazing!

Here’s a peek inside each box.

Looking & Learning

Includes:

  • A mobile project with adorable ocean-themed animals
    • The stuffies are hooked on by buttons so they can be removed for free play or attached to a stroller or car seat.
  • “Where’s Cricket?” Book
  • Looking & Learning Wonder Magazine

Safe & Sound

Includes:

  • Stuffie Cricket for cuddling
  • Soft Swaddle Blanket
  • “Night Night, Cricket” Book
  • Safe & Sound Wonder Magazine

Faces & Emotions

Includes:

  • Tummy Time Mirror (this is my FAVORITE!) that can lay flat or be propped up
  • “Cricket’s Feelings” Book
  • Faces & Emotions Wonder Magazine

See what I mean?! So many development tools and they are adorable! Every new parent needs this for their newborn.

I was also impressed with the quality of all the items. So impressed, in fact, that I signed our coming new addition up to receive the subscription version of Cricket Crate right away!

Check it out! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
